Womanhood

 In the Bible, God gives us a description of a woman of excellence.  It is found in Proverbs chapter 31 starting at verse 10.  He counts the value of such a woman as far above rubies.  Her inner qualities, her aptness, appearance and ability to perform, gives her husband perfect confidence that the household is run with excellence. This enhances his reputation and elevated his esteem among he elders of the land.  This allows him to use his mental aptitude for his particular work.This woman learned the Arts of Womanhood, developed them, and used them in her everyday activities.  She works hard and puts forth great effort to fulfill her purpose for life each day.She is a renowned seamstress. (Vs. 13) Not only does she sew for herself and her household; she weaves her own cloth. (Vs. 19)  She is attentive to personal care (Vs 22) for she adorned herself in the finest and always looks her best.  She is a skilled gardener. (Vs. 16)  She has finances from her own earnings and has knowledge of real estate and agriculture.  She located a fertile piece of land, purchases it and plants a vineyard.  She works it herself with her own strength and might.  She is a brilliant businesswoman. (Vs. 24)  She manufactures her merchandise and knows that they are made with excellence.  Therefore she knows their value and required the proper price from the merchants.She is domestically first and foremost a loving competent mother. (Vs. 14)  Her family is not hungry because she goes out of her way to provide the best nutrition for them.  They don’t worry about the elements because she already has made them warm clothing.She is an exceptional housekeeper. (Vs. 15)  She labors day and night to see that her household lacks nothing.  She even makes the warm covers for her beds. (Vs 22)She is a wise, intelligent woman. (vs.26) She speaks with wisdom and faithful instruction is on her tongue.  Her advice is in agreement with God’s word.  She instructs her children in the way of faith and guides them in the paths of righteousness.  When they wake from their sleep, they call her blessed. (Vs.28)She is unselfish and benevolent. (Vs. 20)  She opens her arms to the poor and seeks out needy so that she can provide them with their necessities.Her utmost characteristic is that she is a zealous devoted worshiper of God.  She exhibits her fear and reverence for the word in that she demonstrates it through the practices in her life.In the crave, the drive, the striving for excellence in every phase of life, she fulfills the purpose of her existence.  Ephesians 2:10 states that we are God’s workmanship created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which He prepared in advance for us to do.  And what does she gain from her tireless effort?  What every woman craves.  Deep love and honor from her husband, love and devotion form her children and respect from her business associates.  She also receives great joy I being able to help the needy and doing benevolent deeds, and can take pride in her accomplishments.  But most of all, she pleases God, which is the ultimate joy.
